The perfect blend
Man and nature in symbiosis This ruin, located on the banks of the river Ed Dahab, is an authentic example of rural housing.
Made with local natural materials, rough-hewn stones and tree trunks, it has over two storeys; the first features a vaulted sheepfold, topped by a rectangular house with a flat earthen roof, accessible from two of its sides.
The house is built against the rock, in complete symbiosis with its environment.
It was documented and consolidated as part of the “Tahoun project” in 2018.
